when we were tiny and the
beach had grown tiresome
"first hole daisies"
"ever-impossible loop-de-loop
with fallen tree."
"praying mantis"
afterwards sore winners and losers alike
were treated to Kentucky Fried Chicken
on the beach at sunset.
i always lost and only ever ate the skin.
